Hongo muy común en prados y jardines, crece semienterrado al principio y luego se hace notorio al emerger del suelo entre el pasto, su tamaño es desde pequeño y delgado hasta grande y robusto de 4 a 13 cm. de altura por 3 a 12 cm de ancho (en el sombrero)de color café amarillento a café dorado, pie cilindrico un poco bulboso en la base, liso y blanco puro. Laminillas café grisáceo oscuro.
Esporas nodulosas de 8 a 9 (11) por 6 a 7 micras.
Tiene cistidios metuloides grandes.
ES UN HONGO TOXICO PELIGROSO, tomando en cuenta que los niños frecuentan su habitat.
